Volunteering with SIDS Calgary Society is a great way to get involved in the community and make a difference. Whether you have been personally affected by SIDS or have not, we are always welcoming new faces for our team of volunteers. We rely on our volunteers to help out at fundraising events around the city throughout the year. These events might include Casino Nights, and networking events. Volunteering with SIDS Calgary is a great way to lend a hand to those who need support.
All donations go towards SIDS research, and supporting families who are affected by SIDS. In the last 4 generations, the frequency of SIDS has been declining worldwide. This is due to the continuous research and hard work of healthcare professionals, and scientists. We believe that with the proper funding and research, the frequency of SIDS will stay on its path and keep decreasing.
SCS uses the money they raise to keep resources afloat, such as the 24 Hour Hotline and the website resources. The rest of it goes to charities, namely the University of Calgary
Some of our amazing previous partners include Silver Dollar Casino and Alberta Children’s Hospital. It’s through these partners and events we’re able to raise majority of our donations and affect change in the Calgary region. SCS has also put on annual picnics, beginning in 2005 to bring parents, friends and family together while raising money for research.
